This weeks blog will be about art appreciation. I have posted this link: http://www.artyfactory.com/art_appreciation/art_movements/art_movements.htm
to the blog. You are to pick an art movement, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Expressionism or Pop Art. Click on the picture or style you like that will then take you to a link that shows pictures and description of that particular art movement. You will find a fact about that art movement and post it on your blog for this week. You are only required to blog once this week. Remember, this is for 10 points and this early in the year it makes a diffenence in your grade. I will do one just to show you an example.

I like that pop art represents the young culture. It also uses bright vivid colors and has some pretty wild pictures.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Pop Art movement. Because it has many colors and it's fun to paint. And also because Andy Warhol has some unique pictures, eventhough everyone copies his style. Pop Art is probably the most popular style.
ReplyDeleteI like fauvism. It's colorful and dramatic. I like the use of bold colors and cool pictures.
ReplyDeleteI pick the cubism and it was really cool. the one that i really liked was Still Life with Mandolin and Guitar. It is cool the way that he tied in the guitar with all the other stuff.
ReplyDeleteI used to like realistic paintings so I would have been more of a fan of Norman Rockwell, Andrew Wyeth and Paul Calle. I still admire their work but have found myself going more towards the colorist when I do my own artwork. I really enjoy the Fauves painters because of thier bold use of color. The Fauves means "Wild Beasts" in French. Fauvist paintings have two main characteristics; simplified drawing and bold use of color. Matisse painted the above painting of a woman and made her skin a shade of greenish yellow. It created an outrage and hence became the beginning of an art movement.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy pop art because it alows the artist to use their own style. There are almost no rules. It also lets the viewer interpret it in many different ways.
ReplyDeleteI like the pop art. I like how it is very creative and different with their own style. also like how each country has their own type of pop art.
ReplyDeleteArt movements and pop art is getting very popular in the "world" of art.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pop art, especially Impressionism and Expressionism.
I liked Expressionism. When you look through the pictures it seems like a variety, not just one form of art. The Temptaion of Anthony was my favorite picture I saw. The Scream by the Edward guy was fimaliar cause it's such a famous painting.
ReplyDeleteI like Impressionism because it is really realistic and pretty to pain. I looks a little harder though. It's used more in scenery too. Impressionism is the first movement in modern art. It captures light and color.
ReplyDeletei like the cubism because it is makes you think about the picture, i like the shapes, it makes it unique. cubism was invented around 1907 in Paris by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque.
ReplyDeletei picked pop art because i like the colors and style of it. it is more interesting to me. "Pop Art was the visual art movement that characterised a sense of optimism during the post war consumer boom of the 1950's and 1960's.'
ReplyDeleteI liked pop art. I really dont like blacks and whites all that much, but I love love love colors and textures and shape. I like to see how every countries art differs because it's just interesting to see how much you could change things.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Expressionism, b/c I enjoy looking at what people see in the world or where they live. I like black and white paintings as well as colored. I enjoy seeing the different textures, shapes and colors they use. I like how they run colors together like they did in the paintings I saw.
ReplyDeletei like the pop up art cause it of its style. Its there own style. So yeah i like pop art cause i they are unique.
ReplyDeleteI like the Fauvism, and my favorite one is the Fauvism and Beyond -Raoul Dufy (1877-1953)i like the differents colors and how it all blends together! it gives it a water color look!
ReplyDeleteI like Fauvism a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are amazing, and the way they simplify the images makes them more interesting to look at.
Henry Matisse was one of the most influential Fauvists,
his paintings are quite impressive.
it was ok but it could of been better
ReplyDeletei enjoy cubism.#1 i like saying cubism.#2 i think its cool how you just jumble a bunch of things together and make something and then boom your rich
ReplyDeleteI only liked the Cubism art. I liked #1 the best. I like the 3D look of the shapes. It lets the person looking at it see the painting from different perspectives. Its nice to look at from my eyes. I like to draw 3D letters, but if I liked painting Cubism would be for me!
ReplyDeleteExpressionism is my favorite by far. It allows the artist to express his feelings in the paintings through not only the picture itself, but through all of the various colors used. I like to paint, especially when everything on the paper flows together through vivid colors
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy expressionism. The paintings are just so smooth. Davos under Snow and The Scream are my favorites. They both join colors, and they are light, and they join together.
ReplyDeleteI think that i like expressionism.I really like the paintings. they were so nice lookin. Besides that i really like painting. It is fun and amusing. haha!!
ReplyDeleteI like expressionism and curbism. The bright colored ones are my favorite, and I don't like the dull ones. They are cool to look at and make me feel peaceful and happy!:)
ReplyDeleteI liked the pop up art because, it was fun! and they used many vareities of color's. It is one of the best art designes ever made! at least thats what i think.
ReplyDeleteI like Fauvism, Cubism, and Pop art. Fauvism because I like the bright, vivid colors. Cubism because I love angles and geometric shapes when they are painted artistically and a good contrast to a somewhat smooth background. And I love Pop Art because it inspired so many clothes, makeup, and artists that I have grown to love.
ReplyDeleteI like cubism because it has many different shapes in it and it has a lot of movement through out the shapes. Picasso is the one who brought cubism to the world in the 20th century. I also like pop art because it has more abstract in it and there are a lot colors in both of these movements
ReplyDeleteI like pop art becuase it's young, fun, and bright!!!It was a reaction against Abstract Expressionism!
ReplyDeletePop art is the way to go. It is the style of the current generation and it has been for at least half a century. I love how the things that most people recognize can be put into a form of art that is so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that most people on here agreed that pop art is their favorite. Like I said before, I believe that it appeals to our generation more than the other styles, and it sticks out when young people think about art. Don't get me wrong, I like certain pieces of art from the other styles, but I believe pop art is the best. =)
ReplyDeletei liked the pop art because it is more in this time period and i like how bright the colors can be.
ReplyDeleteI like Fauvism the best. I liked it because the colors were used to symbolize emotion and moods, so I think it gave the pictures even more meaning. I like the one by Raoul Dufy the best though because it look very cool, yet still confusing
ReplyDeleteYeah i agree with Josh
ReplyDeletei agree with nate about the pop art. its newer, easier, and not out there to far.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Matthew i like how they had all theother stuff with guitar.I also agree with Josh.
ReplyDeletei think pop art is my style. it so creative and cool how they make the painting/art
ReplyDeleteim not sure what my exact style is, but i like real things, i like drawing. people really. because you can make someone, however you want them to look.
